• For centuries people have created memorials to remember their loved ones. A memorial provides us with focus for our personal memories - a tangible place to visit, lay flowers and reflect on happier times.
• You will see that our experienced craftsmen design and prepare memorials ensuring the highest quality in their finished work. The skill of our stonemasons is not limited to what you can see in our Memorial Masonry Brochure, if there is a memorial that you would like, which isn't featured in this brochure we will be happy to check if our masons can produce it for you.
• You may like to choose a memorial with your family and friends. We are available to discuss your requirements with you and to help you with your decision.
• For prices and further information, please contact your local Midcounties Co-operative funeralcare funeral director who will be only too willing to assist you, or if you prefer, visit one of our three masonry sites.
• If you choose a design for a memorial, the size and position of the design, as well as the size of the memorial will determine the number of inscriptions that can be engraved. Our letter cutters will decide upon the best position for a design and inscription, unless you choose otherwise.
• There are many regulations governing the type of memorials that can be erected in a churchyard or cemetery. For example, in many areas cemeteries you cannot have kerbing around the grave space and in some churchyards, polished granite, marble, open books and free standing crosses are often not permitted. The size of a memorial is also generally governed by the appropriate Burial Authority or local Church Diocese. Please allow us to check these regulations for you before you make your final choice.
• Obviously, as the materials used are natural stone, their colour can vary slightly from those shown. Every effort is made to select only the very best materials of monumental quality.
• At Midcounties Co-operative funeralcare, we can also add additional inscriptions to existing memorials and offer a full memorial repair and renovation service. Please ask your local Midcounties Co-operative funeral director for further information about these services.
