Co-operative Funeralcare in Hendred Street, Cowley, is a busy hub branch off the Oxford Road, which assists the local Oxford branches at Headington and Blackbird Leys as well as Didcot, Abingdon, Witney, Carterton & Thame.

It all started in the 1940’s under the name of Oxford, Swindon & Gloucester Co-operative until the merger with Midcounties Co-operative and has continued to provide professional, dignified funerals ever since.

Marie and Sue are happy to assist you with all aspects of your funeral arrangements and also with choosing a suitable memorial from our own stonemasons, Highworth Memorials. Continuous Professional Development is part of our ethos to ensure all our training requirements are properly met.

We are like one big family and welcome Lynn, Marie’s sister, at busy times who currently runs our new branch at Blackbird Leys and we also have five members of the same family working together.

Our premises were refurbished in 2006. We have three arrangement rooms and three chapels of rest. There is a large customer car park at the rear. Our team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If a loved one passes away we will take them into our care and carry out all your funereal wishes in a totally professional way.

Every December we invite our clients to a Christmas service where we remember the people who have passed away that year and some come back year after year. We supply a tree tag for your message in place of the card you would have sent.

Throughout the year we assist the community, in line with our Co-operative values, by tidying graveyards, helping with events and fundraising for our charity partners. This is one of the ways we support the communities we serve.
